Betrayer 04:28
Oh brother, what have you done? Is she under your spell? Are you under her skin? Is everyone blind but me? You can tear off my face and wear it as your own but she’ll never look at you the way she looks at me. I’m barely treading water in the ocean of your lies and you were quite content with watching me drown. And you’re lying down again with my sense of abandonment. I held you in higher stead. That taste on her lips is my misery, that scent on her flesh is my pain, so drink in her smell, and feast on her skin, what a beautiful banquet she makes, what a poisonous banquet she makes. How dare you look me in the eyes and call yourself my friend, the only thing I regret is not wrapping my fingers around your neck. You seducer of the innocent, you king of cowardice, you martyr for the shameless, you leader of the sick. You betrayer.

We are the stars of the daylight hours, the moon I keep safely under lock and key inside my ribcage, saved for a darker day. Dig a little deeper, you haven’t yet broken the skin, your torments could be exactly what I need to keep this fire alive. Smile wide for me, I want to see those perfect teeth. Lost amongst the beautiful sounds of the discord, and I’d give myself for anything, I found myself comfortably numb in this hole, in which to bury my head. There’s nothing but concrete flowing through my veins, and I’ll die keeping your secrets, with your tongue around my neck. I’ve kept your secrets, you’ve nailed my coffin shut.

My Testament 03:34
What do I have to believe in, to restore my faith in this, ‘cause I won’t whisper my prayers in the darkness, to a force that doesn’t exist. I see you wait on bended knee, eyes full of hope fixated on the sky. God if you can hear me won’t you give me a sign, I’ve given you so many chances, to show me right. But I’m hopelessly abandoned, you’ve thrown me to the wolves, where I founded my belief in sin, and it sunk its teeth in. Let me burn, in the fire, keep me warm, underground. Why should I waste another word on you, when you won’t waste a single second on me?
4.
Too long spent staring at the sun has turned those eyes blind against me, and we sway from each other like ships on the ocean. Without complaint we weathered the storm, emerging into a hurricane. The wind doesn’t decide which direction to blow. I can only see what the light allows me. Did you think we were more than this? I can make it a dream. I can place forever in the palm of your hand. Down by the river we exchanged words. What of your promise now? Are you growing weary? Are you growing cold? What of your promise now? I believed I was ready to die. I believed and I was terrified. Catch your breath, gasp for air. Tread carefully around the weeds forcing the cracks open wide.
5.
I see reflections burning to escape the glass, I see the mirror and it stares back at me, Define what lies between the truth and what you believe. These aged lies have you old and blind, so open your eyes, let the light shine in. What are you striving for, another day closer to a failed dream, which piece of you will you leave behind? What are you dying for, a memory of what you used to be, which piece of you will you leave behind? This is the rat race, but you’re running on the wheel, chasing down the setting sun, There was a time when you dreamed beyond the skies, but now your feet are rooted in the dirt. These aged lies have you old and blind, so open your eyes, let the light shine in.

Consume/Deny 05:15
Come one, come all to the end of the world, let us convene under neon lights, we’ll drink, fuck and fight our way to a future where none of us will survive. We’ll burn the Earth, tear down the sky, they have no purpose here, as long as we’re intoxicated enough to witness our self destruction. Look at this nightmare we’ve created, look at this Hell that we call home. On and on into the same old fate we go. Into the unknown. This is the house that integrity built, but we’ve opened the doors and welcomed the demons in. Lay bare your sins for all to see, as you sink deep beneath the waves, just another day in the life of a parasite bleeding her to death, We live our lives by ash and bone, I can hear the masses scream. This is Armageddon The structure will fall, so look to the sky, we all consume, we all deny. Living life is easy with your eyes closed.

about

Atlases Newbury, UK

Formed early 2013, Atlases have spent the best part of their first year based in the studio writing and recording their debut which is due for release Jan 2014.

"Bone-crushing growls and relentless chugging produced a goliath sound, and the quintet came away from their set having seemingly made quite a few new fans! Another band with a potentially big future ahead of them it would seem..."
